Super cute place, with delicious food and coffee - I had the bagel lunch set which included coffee and a freshly baked filled bagel, fresh salad with homemade dressing, pickles and soup - flavors were vibrant and beautifully balanced, I was so happy to discover this cafe and its lovely owner Shino. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (Now to decide which muffin to get for an afternoon snack…)

Hi if you're taking a Kumano Kodo walk and pass by Chikatsuyu drop by the Kumanoyasai Cafe run by Shino San. The coffee are nice, on top of that we also try the mixed berry and cheese muffins, and it's freshly and perfectly baked, with a crispy crust on the outside . She also run Guest House Kumanoyasai, a nice and homy 140 years old japanese house. Do check it out and enjoy her hospitality

I loved this little place! I had a delicious muffin and cafe latte. And I talked to the lovely young woman who had also walked a Camino in Spain. I also met some other nice customers who were walking the Kumano Kodo.

Wonderful little place to sit at and have a rest at the end of a hike - we had a plum juice and a local tea called bancha, which also had a lovely plum flavour to it. Both were excellent, as was the service. Would definitely recommend you stop by!

A charming cafe in the heart of Chikatsuyu, the owner Shino speaks good English. The cafe’s name literally translates as Kumano Vegetable, reflecting Shino’s love and appreciation of local vegetables. The cheese bagel for ¥250 was delicious. WiFi available.

Stopped for some shaved ice and a coffee after a long hike. The owner is so sweet and lovely, and the shaved ice was the perfect little pick-me-up. Thanks Shino, and have fun in Portugal!
